Where did the summer go? The sun is small and distant, set in a frozen sapphire sky; Dapples the ground with light and shadow. These bare twisted trees, bent under a halo of snow are our cathederal. And the little animals? Where have they all gone? They are there, but hiding in nests and hollow logs, Holes in the ground... Where did the Summer go, my love? Or for that matter, Autumn? This wood, where once we frolicked, is now so spooky - quiet - cold ... We walk alone, together, you and I. Our breath smokes in front of us as we go from here to there. (Why?) A dense blanket of white, has erased our every step; Crunches under our feet now as we walk. It is the only sound. We do not speak. (All our words are long since spoken.)
